Georgia's Reality on Underage Drinking

     Statistics for Georgia
  • One third of sixth - ninth graders obtain alcohol from their own homes and sight other homes as most common setting for drinking.(SADD)
  • More than five million high school children binge drink at least once a month, often getting their alcohol from someone already of age. (SADD)
  • 191 teens died in alcohol or drug related crashes,  48 were passengers.  (Governors Office of Highway Safety, 2005)
  • 371 teens were arrested for DUI.  (Georgia Burough of Investigation, 2005)                  
  • 34 teens died due to excessive speed.  (Georgia Burough of Investigation, 2005)
